Both films will outlast your vehicle. The right choice depends on your climate, your budget, and how cool you need the cabin to stay. Here's the honest breakdown from installers who've laid thousands of feet of both.

Max Heat Rejection
If you live in Florida, yes. Ceramic film rejects up to 96% of infrared heat vs ~50% for carbon. That translates to a cabin that's 15–20°F cooler on summer days, less AC load, and less interior fade.
No. Both carbon and ceramic use dye-free pigment technology that won't oxidize. The purple-fade problem belongs to old-school dyed films — neither of these is dyed.
No. Unlike older metallic films, ceramic and carbon are both non-metallic and won't interfere with cellular, GPS, satellite radio, or keyless entry signals.
Shade percentage (VLT) controls darkness, not film type. Both films are available from 5% (limo) to 70% (clear). Carbon has a slightly more matte/black finish; ceramic has a slightly more neutral charcoal tone.
